TCA Calls US congress to Support Turkey-Armenia Normalization

Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) announced that it welcomes the protocols and the schedule that are agreed by Turkey and Armenia towards establishing diplomatic ties and developing bilateral ties. TCA also called U.S. Congress to support the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.
TCA stressed that U.S. government and President Barack Obama supports the process of normalization between Turkey and Armenia and asked U.S. Congress to support the negotiations towards peace. Adressing to the representatives in the Congress, TCA called representatives to adopt an appropriate attitude about the dialogue process that aims contributing peace and stability in the region.
In the written statement, TCA said;
"Encouraging the boost in centuries old economical, political and cultural ties between Turkey and Armenia would be for the interest of all generations. TCA wholeheartedly believes that Turkey and Armenia can leave their tragical and mutual pains in the history and they can look to future. In this context, TCA supports the initiative of opening all archives including Armenian archives for the researches of experts and an establishment of an international committee for researches. We believe that such initiative is the fairest method and primary way to understand the past.
This initiative is supported by Turkish-American community and it is stressed in the letter that is sent to President Obama in February 2009 by 50 Turkish-American Organizations.
TCA also calls for withdrawal of Armenian forces from occupied lands of Azerbaijan and calls Armenia to end illegal invasion. TCA supports efforts towards resolution of the conflict which will enable half million Azerbaijani to return their homeland."
TCA also stated that it will contribute the process of dialogue between Turkey and Armenia by providing scholarships for 100 Armenian-American students if they choose to study in the universities in Turkey or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
